Drop in any song

An audio file, a folder, or a YouTube search or playlist. Title, artist and cover art are filled in automatically.

AI splits it into stems

Demucs separates drums, bass, guitar, piano and vocals on your GPU. basic-pitch transcribes the notes and Whisper hears the lyrics.

Guitar, bass and keys can be played on the real instrument. STEMSTAGE listens to your audio interface or MIDI keyboard and scores every note you play.

  • Tablature for guitar and bass: string and fret for every note, fingered the way a player would, with chords, sustains and bar lines.
  • Keyboard for keys, with notes falling onto the keys you need to press.
  • Shows what you're playing live: green when it's right, gold when it isn't.
  • Octave-free scoring, and input latency learned while you play.

Free for Windows & Linux

The latest release, straight from GitHub. The Windows app and the Linux AppImage update themselves.

Needed

Node.js 20 or newer (nodejs.org), a GPU with WebGL2, and a controller, keyboard or instrument.

For the AI splitter

Python via the one-time setup: server/setup-ai.ps1 on Windows, server/setup-ai.sh on Linux. An NVIDIA GPU makes it fast. Without it, a built-in DSP splitter is used.
